Great interest for the CAHR Presentation Day

Friday 31 Oct 14

Representatives from the Hearing Aid Industry, colleagues from DTU and collaboration partners from audiological clinics came to attend the presentation day on Friday 24th October.

As in previous years, the researchers from Hearing Systems (CAHR- Centre for Applied Hearing Research) presented their current activities and research projects, mainly in the form of short talks and posters. These presentations described the results from current PhD, MSc and other research projects, which covered a broad range of topics including auditory processing and perception, speech science, audiology, spatial hearing, physiological acoustics and hearing instrument signal processing.

After the presentations there was positive feedback from the guests. Many expressed that they were impressed, not only by the topics but also the way the PhD students, senior scientists and research assistants were able to communicate their projects. The scientists themselves thought that it was interesting to attend each other’s presentations and projects:

“It is very fascinating that so many people from around Copenhagen, CPH the Capital of Hearing, are gathered because of the same interest,” Research Assistant Axel Ahrens said with a smile.

Torben Poulsen, retired Professor from Hearing Systems was fascinated by the researcher’s ability to explain complex scientific material.
"I am very impressed. In 15 minutes the researchers present an essentially complicated subject, even with reference to what is next on the program," Torben Poulsen said.
