Marco Zugno will defend his PhD thesis Optimization Under Uncertainty for Management of Renewables in Electricity Markets on 26 June 2013
Abstract
The output of most renewable electricity sources, e.g., wind, is intermittent and predictable only with a limited accuracy. This complicates their management in electricity markets as compared to conventional sources. Focusing on short-term electricity markets, we show how optimization under uncertainty can improve the trading activities of producers and retailers as well as the decision-making processes of market operators.
