Exploring and predicting user behaviour and adherence – Drugstars app

Project brief 

The collaboration between Drugstars and DTU Compute aims to address issue of patient adherence. 

The Drugstars app, rewarding users for adhering to medicinal treatments through positive feedback, is being further developed towards a second version. The project aims to improve patient adherence by better understanding how users with different medicine prescriptions use the app and feel about their treatments. 

The project is centered on a pilot study of about 1000 users, organised by Drugstars, after which involved researchers will help analysing the data and building predictive models that can be used for improving the second version of the Drugstars app. For involved researchers, the projects involves the application of existing statistical methods to a new field.

Project period

  • July 2017 - April 2018

Outcomes:

  • New version of Drugstars app to be launched in 2018
  • Application of exploratory and predictive methods the topic of patient adherence
